Everything you need to know to fly from Marseille Provence airport this summer.

[Translate to English:] Tout ce qu’il faut savoir pour partir de l’aéroport Marseille Provence cet été.

With 2 million passengers in the first quarter of 2025, Marseille Provence Airport is preparing to welcome those travelling during the summer season. With multiple bank holidays in the month of May, the airport expects to handle upwards of 1 million passengers. Extensively modernised to offer travellers the best possible experience, Marseille Provence Airport is committed to delivering the highest operational quality. And providing clear information is one of the key focuses to achieve this.

Plan your arrival

While it is still possible to find a space on the day, especially thanks to overflow car parks, the best option remains booking online via the airport website, which is both the cheapest and most convenient solution.

There are also licensed valet parking services ( Bluevalet and Uval), taxis and car rental companies.

What's new

  • From 5th May, the P3 ECO parking lot will join the 10 already in service, with a special offer for all spaces purchased before 31st August.
  • Smart guidance at the Super Eco car park! To avoid wasting time searching for a space, a web app (no download required) lets you check available spaces in real time directly on your smartphone. This is the first time such a service has been rolled out at a car park of this size. A service offered in partnership with Cocoparks. https://app.cocoparks.io/?source=ampqrcode

Did you know? Getting dropped off by car generates ten times more CO2 emissions than taking public transport. Find out more at https://www.marseille-airport.com/access-car-parks/access/by-train-or-by-bus

Travel independently

Self-service kiosks : To save time and stay independent, passengers can print their own boarding passes and baggage tags at self-service kiosks located in Terminal 1 opposite Paul (depending on the airline).

New: the biometric journey! Since April, Air France and Air Corsica passengers have been able to check-in themselves using the airport app. This digital key combines both a passenger’s ID and boarding pass on a smartphone in the form of a QR code. Passengers can even check in their own luggage at a dedicated biometric counter, with staff on hand to assist if needed.

At security, “a well-prepared passenger is a passenger who gets through quickly!”

This is by far the most stressful stage of the journey for many passengers. That is why the airport’s target is to ensure that 90% of passengers pass through security in less than 10 minutes. This target was almost achieved in 2024, with 89% of passengers passing within this time frame. For the summer season, 70 additional agents will reinforce the teams across both terminals. While they are also available to provide information, it is always best to know in advance what you can take with you. Find out more from your airline or on our website: how to prepare your luggage https://airbag.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/AirBag/Recherche/eE4AAMqMjQJJAA

Good to know: When removing valuables, do not leave them in plain sight. Instead, avoid any unpleasant suprises by placing them in the pocket of a jacket and putting it in the tray.

At border control, working “hand in hand” with the PAF

International traffic currently represents two-thirds of our total passengers. In the first quarter of 2025, it increased by a further 10% compared to the previous year.

For this reason, Marseille Provence Airport and the Border Police (PAF) signed a ‘service quality agreement’ on 23rd April, committing both parties to provide the necessary resources to achieve the target of processing 80% of departing passengers in under 10 minutes, particularly at Terminals 1 and 2.

All information on the formalities required is available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website or on our own site: https://www.marseille-airport.com/flights-and-destinations/air-travel

Comfort in the boarding lounges

  • Opening of the Food Court at Terminal 1

The first hot food court will open on 6th May, a 500 m2 space featuring three brands: Big Fernand, Starbucks and Il Gusto Di Napoli. The latter, a 100% local brand, is led by Ludovic Bicchierai, world pizza champion!

  • Opening of the new international VIP lounge (non-Schengen):

A new 600 m lounge (compared to 150 previously) will be open to all passengers wishing to enjoy premium services.
